The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Exam 2026 under Bangladesh Open University is set to begin on Friday, April 24, at centres across the country. University officials said all preparations have been completed for a smooth and fair examination process.
According to BOU sources, the exams will take place at 170 centres in government and private educational institutions nationwide. A total of 31,052 candidates are expected to take part this year.
The figure includes both first-year and second-year students. Among the candidates, 20,159 are male and 10,893 are female, according to the university.
The first shift exam will start at 9:00 am and continue until 12:00 pm. The second shift will begin at 2:00 pm and end at 5:00 pm.
BOU has issued several instructions for examinees ahead of the opening day. Students must carry their identity cards to enter the exam hall. No candidate will be allowed to sit for the exam without a valid ID card.
The university also said candidates can appear only in subjects for which they completed registration. The exam schedule printed on the question paper must be followed.
Each paper will begin with the multiple-choice section. The creative or written part will start immediately after that, with no break between the two sections.
Students have been asked to fill in all required information on answer sheets carefully. This includes program code, ID number, and subject code. Officials also said answer sheets must not be folded under any condition.
Only non-programmable scientific calculators will be allowed inside the halls. Mobile phone use has been banned for all candidates and staff, except the centre secretary.
Candidates must pass each section separately, including written, multiple-choice, and practical tests where applicable. The examinations will continue under the published routine in the coming days.
