DU publishes first subject allocation for 2025–26 undergraduate admission

    By Education DeskFebruary 10, 2026 9:06 PM

The University of Dhaka (DU) has published the first subject allocation for admission to the first year of its undergraduate programmes for the 2025-2026 academic session.

According to an official notice on the university’s website, students who have received a subject allocation must deposit the required advance fee by February 16. The fee amount is set at Tk 100 or Tk 500, depending on the subject and unit.

The subject allocation follows the completion of the subject preference form submission process. The process started on January 27 and was initially scheduled to end on February 5. Later, the deadline was extended by two days. The extended deadline ended last Saturday, February 7.

During this period, DU authorities issued five separate sets of instructions to guide candidates on how to complete the subject preference form correctly. These instructions were aimed at ensuring that applicants could submit their choices without errors.

In the notice announcing the publication of the results, the university confirmed that this is the first round of subject allocation for the undergraduate programme for the 2025–26 session. The notice also clearly stated the deadline for paying the advance fee for candidates selected in this round.

University authorities have advised all eligible admission candidates to check the notice section of their respective admission units. Detailed information on subject allocation, payment procedures, and further instructions has been provided there.

The subject allocation process is a key step in DU’s undergraduate admission system. It determines the department or subject a student is offered based on merit position, preferences, and seat availability.

Students who do not complete the advance fee payment within the given deadline may lose their allocated subject, according to standard admission rules.

The university has not yet announced details about the next round of subject allocation. Candidates are advised to follow official DU announcements for updates on further admission steps.
