Islamic Arabic University has closed all classes and examinations from Monday. The closure will continue until March 26, according to an office order.
The order was issued on Sunday, March 8. It applies to the university and all Fazil and Kamil madrasas under its supervision.
The notice said the decision follows a letter from the Secondary and Higher Education Division. The division works under the Ministry of Education. Authorities said the step aims to save electricity and fuel. The closure also coincides with several important religious and national events.
These include the holy Lailatul Qadr, Jummatul Bida, and Eid-ul-Fitr. The period also includes the Great Independence and National Day.

Despite the shutdown, some offices will continue limited emergency work. This is needed to support essential university activities.
The Registrar’s Office will keep some branches open for urgent tasks. The Finance and Accounts Office will also run limited operations. Other units with limited duties include the Discipline and Security Branch. The Office of the Controller of Examinations and the ICT Branch will also operate on a restricted scale.
Ansar members and security guards will continue their regular duties. They will maintain safety and security across university facilities.
Normal academic and administrative activities are expected to resume after March 26.
