The recruitment examination for institution heads and assistant heads began on Saturday (April 18) under the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA), with attendance reaching around 90 per cent.
An Education Ministry official, who visited several exam centres in the morning, confirmed the turnout on April 18. At Lalmatia Girls’ High School and College, attendance was recorded at 91.14 per cent.
The exams started at 9:00 AM with Group A and continued until 10:00 AM. Group B is scheduled from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Group C will run from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, while Group D is set for 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
NTRCA said it completed all preparations before the test day. A special control room has been opened at the NTRCA office to monitor the process and help ensure the exams are completed smoothly.
Candidates were asked to arrive at their centres on time, according to the instructions printed on their admit cards. The exam is being held in multiple-choice question (MCQ) format across four groups.
A total of nine centres in Dhaka are hosting the examination. These are Lalmatia Girls’ High School and College, Tejgaon College, Government Madrasa-e-Alia, College of Applied Human Science, Government Bangla College, Government Laboratory High School and College, Dhaka Residential Model College, Lalmatia Government Women’s College, and Begum Badrunnesa Government Women’s College.
This is the first time a centralised written examination has been arranged for the post of institution head. Earlier, recruitment was handled by management committees of individual institutions. Those older systems had faced repeated allegations of irregularities, favouritism, and financial dealings.
The results and next steps in the recruitment process are expected to be announced by NTRCA after the examinations end.
