    National University Honours Admission Test

The National University’s first-year undergraduate (Honours) admission test for the 2025–2026 academic session will be held today, Saturday, across Bangladesh. The exam will run from 11 am to 12 pm at 138 selected centres in divisional and district cities.

A total of 453,148 candidates have confirmed participation in the test, according to university officials. The figures show strong competition for available seats, with nearly two students competing for each place.

The information was shared on Friday at a press conference at the National University city office in Dhaka. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr A S M Amanullah spoke about the arrangements and candidate numbers.

He said 475,432 students first applied for the admission test. Later, 453,148 completed confirmation. As of 6:30 pm on 23 April, admit cards had been issued to 433,519 candidates.

This year, admission competition will cover 880 colleges under the university. These include 375 government colleges and 505 private colleges. The total number of available seats is 452,875.

Among them, government colleges have 270,520 seats. Applications for those seats reached 394,229. Private colleges have 182,355 seats, while 58,119 students applied.

The university said wide preparations were taken to ensure smooth exams. Of the 138 centres, 18 are in the Dhaka metropolitan area. Another 27 are in the Dhaka division outside the capital.

There are 23 centres in Chattogram, 18 in Khulna, and 17 in Rajshahi. Rangpur has 13 centres, Barishal has 10, Sylhet has nine, and Mymensingh has three.

The university also issued urgent instructions for candidates. Students must download their admit cards from the official admission website and print them on A4-size paper. Candidates must sign the printed copy.

Officials said the photo uploaded during the online application will be treated as final. If any tampering is found, the candidate will not be allowed to sit for the test.

Candidates were advised to visit their exam centre in advance or check seat plans through the relevant college website. They must sit only in the assigned room and seat.

Students must arrive at least one hour before the exam begins. No one will be allowed to enter after the start time.

The same signature must be used on the admit card, attendance sheet, and OMR answer sheet. Only a black ink ballpoint pen can be used. Pencil use is not allowed.

Candidates must carry their admit card and HSC registration card. Mobile phones, calculators, and all electronic devices are banned inside the hall.

The university said the chief invigilator’s decision inside the centre will be final. Any coded mark or mobile number written on the OMR sheet will lead to the cancellation of that answer paper.

Results and next admission steps are expected to be announced by the university after the examination process ends.
