GST A Unit Admission Test

Several students were caught attempting to cheat during the ‘A’ unit admission test for the 2025–2026 academic session of cluster-affiliated universities on Friday. The incidents occurred at the Maulana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) centre and its associated sub-centres in Tangail.

The admission test began nationwide at 11:00 AM. Authorities reported strict monitoring at all centres to ensure fairness during the examination.

This year, a record-breaking history has been made at Pabna University of Science and Technology. A candidate was expelled and detained after using ChatGPT in the same exam.

At the Santosh IU Girls High School centre, one examinee was detained after officials found written notes on her admit card. The student, identified as Farzana, had written answers in pencil on the back of the card.

Members of the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC), who were on duty at the centre, detected the notes during a routine search. Sources said she was carrying two admit cards during the exam.

After officials found the notes, the admit card containing the writing was immediately torn up. She was later allowed to take the exam using the second admit card. Her assigned seat was in Extension Building-2 at the centre.

At the same venue, BNCC members stopped another examinee before entry after discovering cheating notes written in pencil on a registration card.

Officials also stopped a different candidate who tried to enter the centre with a mobile phone hidden inside a wallet. Authorities prevented the student from entering despite arrangements requiring phones to remain outside.

Officials said strict monitoring will continue to ensure a fair and disciplined admission test process.
