The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has published the admission test results for first-year undergraduate programmes for the 2025-2026 academic session. The results have been released on Wednesday night (January 28), according to the university.
Applicants can view their BUET Result on the official admission website. The university confirmed the publication through an official press release.
The admission test was held on 10 January in two shifts. BUET said 87.44 percent of eligible applicants took part in the test. This reflects strong participation among candidates selected for the examination.
According to BUET, a total of 10,351 students were selected on merit to sit for the admission test. Of them, 7,644 were male students, and 2,707 were female students. Among the selected candidates, 9,051 appeared in the admission test.

BUET said the admission test was conducted for a total of 1,309 seats this year. This figure includes reserved seats for specific groups, as per university policy.
Among the total seats, three are reserved for candidates from small ethnic groups. These candidates come from the Chittagong Hill Tracts and other areas. The reservation applies to engineering departments and the Urban and Regional Planning Department. No more than one reserved seat is available in any single department.
In addition, one reserved seat has been allocated for the Architecture Department. BUET said these reservations follow existing admission rules approved by the university authorities.
The publication of the BUET Admission Result is a key step in the annual admission process. Thousands of students across Bangladesh compete each year for a limited number of seats at BUET. The university is widely regarded as the country’s leading public institution for engineering and architecture education.
Admission to BUET is based strictly on merit through a competitive testing process. The university said all selection steps were completed according to established procedures. No changes to seat numbers or eligibility rules were announced with the result publication.
Students who have qualified will now move to the next stage of the admission process. BUET is expected to provide further instructions on subject choice, verification, and enrolment through its official channels in the coming days.
