46th BCS Final Result to be published soon

PSC chairman says commission is trying to release results quickly but gives no date

Uncertainty continues over the publication of the final results of the 46th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination, which was expected to be released in January.

Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Professor Mobasher Monem said on Thursday that he could not confirm when the results would be published. He made the comment while speaking to the media on the morning of 29 January.

“I cannot say when the final results of the 46th BCS will be published. We are trying to publish the results as quickly as possible,” the PSC chairman said.

According to PSC sources, a full commission meeting is usually held before publishing the final results of any BCS examination. In that meeting, the decision to publish the results was formally approved.

However, no full commission meeting was held on Thursday, which was the last working day of January.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a PSC official said that if the results are not published on Thursday, there is a higher chance they will be released next month.

The 46th BCS process involves a large number of candidates. A total of 337,986 applicants applied for the preliminary examination. Among them, 254,561 candidates appeared at exam centres in divisional cities across the country.

After re-evaluation of the preliminary results, 21,397 candidates qualified for the written examination. Later, following the correction of technical errors, the PSC nominated a total of 4,050 candidates for the viva voce examination. The written examination results were published on 27 November 2025.

Through the 46th BCS, recruitment is planned for 3,140 cadre posts. The highest number of posts is in the health cadre, with 1,682 assistant surgeons and 16 assistant dental surgeons.

Other planned recruitments include 920 posts in the education cadre, 274 in administration, 80 in police, and 10 in foreign affairs.

After the viva voce examinations are completed, the PSC will recommend candidates for cadre posts based on merit and their stated preferences.
