A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking the postponement of the 50th BCS preliminary examination. However, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has said the exam will not be postponed and will be held as scheduled.
The writ was submitted on Wednesday by four BCS candidates to the relevant branch of the High Court. The petition seeks a delay of the preliminary test. Despite the filing, PSC officials confirmed that the examination process remains unchanged.
On Thursday (29 January), a source from the PSC said the writ would not affect the exam schedule. The source said the PSC’s legal officer will respond to the petition in court. The Commission is also making legal and administrative preparations.
PSC Public Relations Officer SM Matiur Rahman confirmed the information to the Media. He said, “The preliminary examination of the 50th BCS will be held on time. Centres have been instructed to take necessary measures to conduct the exam.”

For candidates with special needs, the application deadline for requesting scribes has already passed. Required documents were also submitted within the deadline. The PSC said it will arrange scribes through its own system.
Under its current roadmap, the PSC aims to complete the written and viva examinations as quickly as possible after the preliminary test is held.
