The 50th BCS preliminary examination has concluded in Bangladesh. The exam was held on Friday (30 January) from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It took place at the same time in eight divisional cities, including the Dhaka metropolitan area.
The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) organised the examination. Thousands of candidates took part in centres across the country under tight supervision.

Earlier, the PSC issued detailed instructions for candidates. These were announced through two separate notices on Tuesday (13 January). The notices were signed by Masuma Afrin, Controller of Examinations (Cadre) of the PSC.

According to the instructions, candidates were required to enter the examination hall by 9:30 AM. The PSC said random seat allocation could cause delays in finding seats. For this reason, candidates were asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before the exam started. No candidate was allowed to enter the hall after 9:30 AM.

The Commission said this rule was clearly mentioned on the admit card. It was also included in the official instructions for conducting the examination.

The PSC also enforced strict restrictions at examination centres. These measures were taken to prevent any disorder or unfair practices during the exam.

All types of watches, including analog and digital, were banned inside the examination hall. Mobile phones, electronic devices, books, calculators, and items similar to bank or credit cards were also prohibited. Candidates were not allowed to carry jewellery, bracelets, bags, or wallets into the hall.

At the entrance gate, candidates were allowed to enter only after verification of their admit cards. Security checks were conducted using metal detectors. These checks took place in the presence of executive magistrates and police officers.

During the examination, candidates were instructed to keep their ears uncovered at all times. No covering over the ears was allowed. The PSC said this rule was part of its standard security procedure.
For candidates with special needs, the Commission allowed limited exceptions. Those who required a hearing aid had to take prior permission from the PSC before the exam.
The 50th BCS preliminary examination is the first stage of the Bangladesh Civil Service recruitment process. The preliminary test is used to shortlist candidates for the written examination.
After the exam, many candidates are now searching for the 50th BCS Preli Question Solution to assess their performance. However, the PSC has not yet released any official answer key or result information.
The Commission is expected to announce the next steps of the selection process in due course through official notices. Candidates have been advised to follow PSC announcements for verified updates only.
