The Dhaka education board has issued new instructions for officers-in-charge of SSC examination centres. The guidance aims to ensure fair exams, prevent cheating, and maintain security. The instructions were issued on Monday.
The Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education sent official letters to all Deputy Commissioners. The board asked them to ensure proper implementation at every examination centre. The directions outline duties before, during, and after the examinations.
According to the instructions, the officer-in-charge must take all steps for smooth exams. They must keep confidential papers from the Controller of Examinations in safe custody. These documents must be distributed on the exam day through the centre secretary.
The officer must also ensure that answer scripts are sent safely to the board. This must happen after each subject exam ends every day. The process must follow instructions from the Controller of Examinations.
Security at examination centres is another key responsibility. The officer must take steps to protect teachers, invigilators, and staff on duty. After all exams end, the officer must submit a full report. This report will go to the Controller of Examinations.
If the officer is not a Deputy Commissioner, invigilators must be selected after consultation. This consultation must take place with the district’s Deputy Commissioner. Teachers from the same school cannot invigilate their own students.
The instructions also require strict control around examination centres. Section 144 will be enforced near all centres during the exams. This bans the entry of unrelated persons within 200 yards of centres.
Officials must also check the question paper packets three days before the exams. Treasury officials, centre secretaries, and committee members must remain present. Any shortage or mismatch must be reported immediately to the board.
Education officials say these steps aim to protect exam integrity. The SSC examinations are expected to proceed under these tightened rules.
