The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is expected to announce the UPSC Prelims Result 2026 for Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE) shortly on its official website, upsc.gov.in. Candidates who appeared for the examination on 24 May 2026 will be able to check their qualifying status by downloading the result PDF and searching for their roll numbers.
The UPSC conducted the Preliminary Examination in offline mode on 24 May 2026. The exam was held in two shifts across various centres. The result has not been released yet, but it is expected between 9 June and 12 June 2026 based on previous years’ result trends.
Once released, the result PDF will be available on the UPSC website. Candidates can open the document and use the search function to locate their roll numbers. Those whose roll numbers appear in the PDF will qualify for the next stage of the selection process, the Civil Services Main Examination.
The Civil Services Examination is conducted annually by UPSC to recruit candidates for the All India Services and various Group A services. The selection process consists of three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview.
This year, UPSC introduced a notable change by releasing a provisional answer key after the Preliminary Examination. Candidates were given an opportunity to raise objections before the final evaluation process.
To check the UPSC Prelims Result 2026 after its release, candidates need to visit the official UPSC website, click on the UPSC CSE Prelims 2026 Result link in the “What’s New” section, download the PDF, and search for their roll number using the Ctrl+F function.
The release of the Preliminary Examination result will determine which candidates move forward to the Main Examination, the next stage in the Civil Services recruitment process. UPSC is expected to publish the result on its official website in the coming days.
