    Primary Scholarship Exam 2025: Over 12,000 Students will participate from Jessore

    The Primary Scholarship Exam for the year 2025 is all set to be conducted from April 15, 2026. Around 12,000 students will take part in the Primary Talent Scholarship Examination in Jessore. The exam will run for four days across 19 centres in eight upazilas of the district.

    According to the District Primary Education Office, a total of 12,280 students from 1,495 primary schools are registered this year. Among them, 5,089 are boys, and 7,191 are girls. This means female students outnumber male students by 2,102.

    Acting District Primary Education Officer G M Alamgir Kabir confirmed the figures. He said all preparations have been completed to ensure a fair and orderly exam environment.

    The examination will begin on April 15 with the Bangla subject. English will follow on April 16, Mathematics on April 17, and Bangladesh and Global Studies, along with Primary Science, on April 18. The total marks for the exam are 400. Each of Bangla, English, and Mathematics carries 100 marks, while the remaining two subjects carry 50 marks each.

    Jessore Sadar Upazila has the highest number of candidates. A total of 3,157 students from 314 schools will sit for the exam there. Among them, 1,296 are boys, and 1,861 are girls. Exams in Sadar will be held at five centres, including Churamankati Government Primary School and Baliadanga Model Government Primary School.

    In Sharsha Upazila, 1,867 students from 167 schools are participating. Of them, 761 are boys, and 1,106 are girls. The exams will take place at Sharsha Model Government Primary School and Bagachra Government Primary School.

    Monirampur upazila has 1,695 candidates from 288 schools. Among them, 703 are boys, and 992 are girls. The centres include Monirampur Government High School and Monirampur Government Girls’ High School.

    In Bagherpara, 900 students from 108 schools will sit for the exam. Among them, 394 are boys, and 506 are girls. The exam will be held at Dohakula Government Primary School and TPM Government Primary School.

    Jhikargacha Upazila has 1,290 candidates from 158 schools. Among them, 515 are boys, and 775 are girls. The exam centres include Jhikargacha M L Government Primary School and Jhikargacha Badruddin Muslim High School.

    In Chaugacha, 1,259 students from 151 schools are taking part. Of them, 521 are boys, and 738 are girls. Exams will be held at Mridapara Women’s College and two government primary schools.

    Keshabpur upazila has 1,082 candidates from 170 schools. Among them, 479 are boys, and 603 are girls. The exam will be held at Keshabpur Government Pilot Higher Secondary School.

    In Abhaynagar, 1,030 students from 139 schools will participate. Among them, 420 are boys, and 610 are girls. The centres include Nowapara Shankarpasha Government Secondary School and Nowapara Model Secondary School.

    Officials said the higher number of female candidates reflects a steady rise in girls’ participation in primary education in the district. The exam is an important step for students to receive government scholarships based on merit.

    Authorities have taken steps to maintain discipline and transparency at all centres. Local education officials and school authorities will monitor the process closely.
