Online applications for the first release slip under the National University’s undergraduate (Honours) first-year admission process for the 2025–2026 academic session will begin toward the end of June, according to university officials.
The information was confirmed on Saturday, 20 June, by Dr Md. Ashek Kabir Chowdhury, Acting Dean of the School of Undergraduate Education, the National University’s admission-related body.
Speaking to All Result Net, he said the first and second merit list processes had already been completed. The university will now accept applications for the first release slip before publishing another merit list.
“Our first and second merit lists have already been completed. Now, applications for the release slip will be taken, after which we will publish another merit list. We will start accepting applications for the first release slip toward the end of this month. Hopefully, it may begin from the 27th or 28th,” he said.
According to university sources, several categories of students will be eligible to apply through the release slip process. These include students who scored at least 35 marks in the admission test but did not secure a place on any merit list.
Students who were selected on a merit list but did not complete admission will also be eligible. In addition, those who were admitted through the first, second, or quota merit lists and later cancelled their admission can apply.
Applicants will be able to choose up to five colleges based on their order of preference. To submit an application, students must log in through the Applicant Login option on the National University website and select their preferred colleges and subjects.
Students will be able to review the vacant seat list of each college before choosing eligible subjects. After completing the application form, they can download and save a printed or PDF copy.
The university has said applicants will not need to submit the form to any college. No application fee will be required for the release slip process. Colleges will also not need to verify or confirm the submitted applications.
The release slip process provides another opportunity for eligible students who could not secure admission through the earlier merit lists.
Detailed admission information is available in the Prospectus (Honours) and Important Notice sections of the National University website. The university is expected to announce the detailed schedule and further instructions when the application process begins later this month.
